Method
of Fertilizer Application:
TSP,
MP, Gypsum and ZnSO4 all these fertilizers should be applied during
final land preparation. Urea should be applied in three equal splits. The 1st
1/3rd is applied at 20 DAT as top dressing. 2nd 1/3rd
is applied during early tillering stage at 30-35 DAT and last 1/3rd
at panicle initiation stage 50-55 DAT as top dressing.
Reasons for Split Application of Urea:
Urea becomes available in 3 days after application and remain available in one week. It is lost easily through leaching and volatilization.
